Austin Powers:International Man of Mystery is one of the greatest movies ever made, but soon it may be defeated -- Austin Powers II is on its way to theaters!

Austin Powers is the best James Bond spoof of all time. The movie is written by and stars Mike Myers, of "Saturday Night Live." Elizabeth Hurley plays Austin's sexy partner. Other notable actors in the movie include Michael York of the Monkees, Mimi Rogers, Tom Arnold, and Carrie Fischer. The film was even co-produced by Demi Moore.

Austin Powers was a swingin' British hippster in the '60s. He was also the best agent in the Ministry of Defense. When Powers' nemesis, Dr. Evil, cryogenically freezes himself, Powers must do th same. And, when Dr. Evil is reanimated in the '90s, so is the one man who can stop him: Austin Powers.

Austin Powers was not expected tobecome the cult phenomena that it became, so paraphenalia like action figures, t-shirts, and posters were never made. However, when sales of Austin Powers on video soared through the roof, the paraphenalia began rolling out, as did offers to Myers for a second Austin Powers movie.

The second movie is to co-star Heather Graham as Myers' love interest because Myers wants a new female actress in every movie, like the James Bond series. Michael York is returning as Powers' boss, Basil Inquisition. The film is set for release in theaters sometime in 1999.
